Our Mission
At Mia & Furends, our goal is simple: help as many Furends as we can. 🐾
We believe rescue is bigger than one person, one organization, or one location. Saving lives takes a community, which is why our mission extends beyond the animals directly in our care.
Through rescue, networking, community events, transportation, and collaboration with other rescues, we work to create more opportunities for animals who need a second chance. Sometimes that means welcoming a dog into our care. Other times, it means helping another rescue find resources, connecting an animal with the right placement, or transporting dogs to other states where there are more adopters and a greater opportunity to find forever homes.
We want to help bridge the gaps that too often stand between an animal and their happy ending.
At the heart of Mia & Furends is the belief that rescue works best when we work together. By building relationships with shelters, rescues, fosters, volunteers, adopters, businesses, and members of our community, we hope to create a network that allows us to say “yes” to more animals in need.
Every Furend deserves safety, love, and the chance to find their way home. 🤍🐶

Meet Mia & Phoebe
Mia’s heart for rescue grew through volunteering, where she met a tiny blind poodle named Phoebe who would ultimately change her life.
Phoebe was fiercely independent and, at first, wanted absolutely nothing to do with being touched. She may not have trusted people easily, but she was always grateful for the ones who showed up to feed her. With consistency, patience, and a willingness to listen to what Phoebe needed, trust slowly began to grow. A shared love for coffee runs didn’t hurt either. ☕🐾
Before long, Mia and Phoebe became best friends — and Phoebe found her forever home.
Their story represents so much of what Mia & Furends stands for. Love doesn’t always mean fixing everything. Sometimes it means showing up, listening, being patient, and giving an animal the time and space they need to feel safe again.
We may not be able to save every animal, but we can always add more love to the world. And sometimes, that love changes an entire life. 🤍
